Q: What will my student learn?
A: Your student will learn recieve hands-on training on medical techniques/procedures, including: EKG interpretation, Suturing, CPR, Splinting and Taking Vital Signs. Through interaction with different health professionals, students will gain the leadership skills, communication skills, and exposure that will give them a competitive edge as they pursue a career in health or medicine. Students will gain invaluable insight into the medical school application process and/or Pre-health pathway.
Q: Who will be with my student all day?
A: Our lead counselors are outstanding, accomplished college graduates that have extensive experience working with and advising youth. Our counselors and staff are trained beforethe program to meet the needs of our MISA students. All of our staff have extensive experience working in clinical or health-related arenas and most importantly love working with youth.
Q: Is there a set program schedule?
A: Yes! Each day is carefully planned to include key components like advising, networking, leadership building, and hands-on activities, all in a supportive environment.
Q: Will my student receive individual attention?
A: Yes! Not only will they receive individual attention from health professionals, but they will also have the opportunity to gain guidance from University of California- Berkeley students. We believe in the importance of individual advising and we thus make sure our staff to student ratio is 1:8
Q: What is the cost?
A: The application fee is $25 and it’s non-refundable. The program cost is $950 and it covers the following:
- Transportation and Field Trips

- Private Transportation for Field Trips
